In 2008, when André Rieu was touring with his full scale replica of the Schönbrunn castle, he announced during one of his concerts in Australia that he would do a concert in New Zealand in 2009. This became a dream come true for thousands of New Zealanders!
Then in October 2009, André Rieu visited Auckland with a jubilant 30th Anniversary Tour concert at Vector Arena. Celebrating 30 years of performing, André, his soloists and The Johann Strauss Orchestra wowed with a collection of songs including waltzes by Frans Lehár and Johann Strauss, the Spanish 'España Cani' and a traditional Dutch 'Klompendans' (clog dance).
The biggest surprise for André fans came when the concert was finished and the announcement of a 2010 New Zealand concert was made! The King of Waltz will return to Auckland for another show in October 2010! André Rieu, the Johann Strauss Orchestra and his many soloists will take to the stage with an enchanting new show guaranteed to turn every audience member into a lifelong fan.
